I am a Baghdad-born, UK-raised and London-based music, arts and culture journalist writing across titles including the BBC, The FT, New Scientist, The Guardian, The Telegraph, The Sunday Times, Mixmag, The Face, Kerrang!, Sight & Sound, Montecristo, Stuff, NME, Rolling Stone, Record Collector, Metropolitan, Elephant, and Virgin Atlantic magazine.

I have created bespoke editorial and playlists for brands and venues including Bentley, British Airways, Penguin, Barbican Centre, Searchlight Pictures, Bang & Olufsen, SkyArts, Southbank Centre, TFL, iTunes Festival, Apple Music, Wigmore Hall, Ninja Tune, Tanglewood, Edinburgh International Festival, Crisis and UNICEF. Multi-media broadcasting includes BBC Radio, RAI, The FT and New Scientist podcasts.

Full-time roles have included Time Out magazine (Music & Nightlife Writer), The Times (Deputy Editor of arts guide The Knowledge), and Metro newspaper (national/global Music Editor for nine years).
